Our Story

It began in 2008 when Tim Hale and Troy Townley came to the realisation that small to medium sized businesses (SME’s) wanted more specialised and proactive accounting than merely compliance and tax.

The market was looking for more value and help in all areas of business, financial, personal and strategic. We knew we needed to ‘reinvent the wheel’ to provide a service that made us as a key team player in our client’s success.

We also recognised we could bring this same proactive approach to personal accounting and helping clients self manage superannuation. In fact for many of our clients we look after all their financial needs, both personal and business and achieve holistic benefits.

We call the approach we take ‘Delivering Actionable Insight’, an innovative strategic service that enables us to play an integral part in your success. Built around relationships, knowledge and trust, the approach is entirely customisable around you, your business and growth stage. We will help you realize your financial and business aspirations, and we carry this out with pride, respect, energy and enthusiasm.

He enjoys watching people develop new skills and confidence as they grow into their role. His biggest professional achievement was being appointed the CFO of a health organisation at 27 years old.

Jim began with HTA in 2018. With 40+ years of experience, Jim prides himself on helping accountants of all levels in developing in their roles. His favourite part of his job is working with a team that have common goals and who are achieving great outcomes for clients. He enjoys providing insight for clients that they can use as opportunities for growth and readiness for future retirement. Over the last few years Jim at HTA has been involved in the development of the accounting team by coordinating training that facilitates in the technical upskilling, coaching and mentoring of team members. Providing Tax advice to Senior Managers on all relevant tax matters in working closely with clients in seeking to unlock value for stakeholders. Main role objective is to provide a focused tax agenda in seeking to achieve business growth by developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key business decision-makers within the HTA Team. Jim’s Prided skills include, ability to think outside the box and innovate, coach and teach a team, and contributing to flexible, stable, team oriented working culture.

Julie Ramke-Meyer

Julie joined the HTA team in October 2011 as HTA’s first graduate accountant, after completing a Bachelor of Accounting at La Trobe University in July 2011.

Now one of HTA’s Senior Accountants with CPA qualifications, she loves getting involved in clients’ businesses to help them achieve not just their business, but also personal aspirations. She works with a large range of clients providing business advisory, accountancy, and taxation services.

Julie also likes to give something back and is the treasurer for the not-for-profit organization Lungevity Australia.

Outside of the office, you’ll often find her baking in the kitchen or relaxing on the couch with an action movie.

My family time which seems to always involve eating, the great outdoors and many nights ended with a great glass of red. Let’s not forget the mighty magpies at the G and I love running 3 times a week.
