At HTA, we love celebrating the people behind the businesses we work with—those who lead with purpose, passion, and resilience. Today, we’re thrilled to shine a well-deserved spotlight on Keren, who is marking an incredible 20 years with JP Flynn.
A two-decade milestone is a rare and inspiring achievement. It speaks volumes about Keren’s unwavering commitment, deep sense of purpose, and the meaningful impact she’s had not only within the JP Flynn team but across the many lives their work touches.
Can you share what JP Flynn is all about and the services you offer?
JP Flynn is a values-driven construction company specialising in insurance building works and disaster recovery across Australia. We’re dedicated to helping people rebuild after unexpected events—whether it’s storm, flood, fire, or other forms of property damage. Our services span assessment, project management, and full-scale restoration. Over the years, we’ve built a reputation for reliability, empathy, and craftsmanship, delivering high-quality building repair outcomes for our clients and partners.
Congratulations again on 20 years at JP Flynn! What does this milestone mean to you and your team? Are there any key moments or achievements that stand out?
Thank you! Reaching this milestone is both humbling and incredibly meaningful. It reflects not just personal longevity, but the strength and resilience of the entire JP Flynn team. Some standout moments include expanding nationally, navigating large-scale natural disasters with urgency and compassion, and building a leadership team that truly believes in our purpose. Watching colleagues grow into leaders and seeing the positive impact we’ve had on thousands of Australian homes and lives are memories I’ll always treasure.
As someone who’s been with JP Flynn for 20 years, what has kept you passionate and motivated throughout your journey?
It’s the people—both our team and the clients we serve. Every day brings a new challenge, and I’ve always been driven by the opportunity to solve problems and support those in distress. Seeing the difference our work makes in people’s lives is deeply motivating. Additionally, I’ve had the privilege to grow professionally alongside the business, and that continual learning and evolving responsibility has kept me engaged and inspired.
How has JP Flynn evolved over the years—whether in culture, operations, or client relationships?
We’ve seen significant growth and transformation. Culturally, we’ve shifted from a small family business to a national operation with robust systems—without losing our human touch. Operationally, we’ve embraced technology, streamlined our workflows, and built a more agile and responsive business model. Our client relationships have matured into true partnerships, built on trust, transparency, and consistent delivery. We’ve become known not just for rebuilding homes, but for doing it with heart and professionalism.
What do you think has been the biggest factor in your long-term success and sustainability as a business?
Our commitment to people and purpose. From day one, we’ve focused on doing the right thing—by our clients, our staff, and our industry partners. That integrity, combined with adaptability and a strong service ethos, has helped us weather economic shifts, natural disasters, and a rapidly changing industry. We also invest heavily in leadership development and team culture, which has been vital in building a resilient, future-ready business.
What advice would you give to other business owners looking to build a strong, lasting company culture?
Start with values—and make sure they’re not just words on a wall. Embed them into your hiring, your daily decisions, and how you support your people. Transparency, empathy, and empowerment go a long way. Listen actively to your team, encourage growth, and celebrate wins together. Most importantly, lead by example—culture starts at the top.
How has partnering with HTA supported your journey over the years?
HTA has been an invaluable partner—helping us sharpen our strategic direction, align our leadership, and scale sustainably. Their guidance has helped us professionalise key aspects of the business without losing our core identity. Whether it’s navigating change, optimising processes, or building capability, HTA has provided the insight and support we needed to grow with confidence.
